Storm Take Third at Elmira Invite

The Keuka College golf team finished its 2007-08 with a third place finish at the Elmira College Spring Invitational on Monday.  The Storm finished with a score of 371 while SUNY Oswego won the Invite with a score of 314.  Elmira College’s “A” team took second with a 336 while SUNY ESF (373) and Elmira’s “B” team (379) finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

Junior Josh Robinson (Barton, N.Y./Tioga) shot a seven-over, 79, shooting a 41 on the front nine and a 38 on the back.  Robinson’s score placed him in fifth place overall, giving him seven top-five finishes out of eight competitions this season.

Freshman Darron Hall (Owego, N.Y./Owego) placed second for the Storm with a 94, finishing in 19th place out of 26 golfers.  Juniors Kevin Lowry (Clifton Springs, N.Y./Midlakes) and Alex Clark (Saranac Lake, N.Y./Saranac) both shot a 99 to tie for 21st place while sophomore Kyle Phelan (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Athena) placed fifth for Keuka with a score of 103 (23rd overall).
