Keuka Season Ends in ECACs

The Keuka College women’s soccer team had its season halted by the Golden Flyers of Nazareth College 7-0 in the first-round of the ECAC Upstate Tournament. The No. 3 seeded Golden Flyers improve to 12-6-2 on the year and advance to play the winner of the No. 2 University of Rochester vs. No. 7 Fredonia State game in the semifinals on Saturday. Keuka ends the year with a 12-6 overall mark.
Nazareth out-shot the Storm 26-1 for the game ripping 13 shots in each half. Nazareth scored three first half goals two coming from Caroline Parsons and the game’s first goal coming off the foot of Erica Conte in the 10th minute. Keuka’s lone shot, coming from junior midfielder Brenna Leach (Rochester, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy), was saved by Nazareth goalie Hillary Simon.
Nazareth proceeded to score four more times in the second half. The goals were scored in the 50th, 69th, 80th, and 88th minutes. Keuka goalie Kristi Chamberlain (Oriskany Falls, N.Y./Madison) finished with 11 saves, six in the first half and five in the second. Chamberlain finishes with 90 saves on the year.
