Lady Storm Take 5th at Naz Invite

The women’s cross country team had its best finish at a major Invitational of the 2007 season as they took fifth out of ten teams at the Nazareth College Invitational on Saturday.  Keuka finished with a final score of 163 while host Nazareth won the invite with a 24.  Daemen and Fredonia tied for second with each team posting a score of 70 while Utica College took fourth with a 75.  Finishing behind the Storm were D’Youville College (189), Wells College (190), St. John Fisher College (233), Medaille College (241), and Hilbert College (289).

Running in a shorter race then usual, a 4K instead of a 5 or 6K, it was still Lindsey Peck (Williamson, N.Y./Williamson) who led the way for Keuka.  The sophomore finished 32nd overall out of 88 runners in a time of 18:20.

Rookie Megan Arthur (Lowville, N.Y./South Lewis) placed 41st overall with a time of 19:04 while junior Catherine Armani-Munn (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Seton Catholic) and senior Brittany Brewer (Binghamton, N.Y./Binghamton) placed 43rd (19:15) and 44th (19:24) overall.  Freshman Emily Laforce (Massena, N.Y./Madrid-Waddington) placed fifth for Keuka in 66th place in a time of 21:53, respectively.

Keuka will next compete in the University of Rochester Invitational this Saturday, Oct. 13 beginning at 11 am.
