Peck Paces Storm

The women’s cross country team finished 14th out of 15 teams at the University of Rochester Yellowjacket Invitational at Genesee Valley Park on Saturday. Keuka finished with a final score of 412. Western Ontario University had six of the top eight runners to win the invite with a score of 17. Cornell University (48), Allegheny College (115), Geneseo State (120), and the University of Rochester (159) rounded out the top five.
As it has been in all of the Storm’s races except for their first one, sophomore Lindsey Peck (Williamson, N.Y./Williamson) led the way for Keuka finishing 119th out of 164 runners. Peck ran an average mile of 7:18 while finishing the 5K race in 22:40.
Freshman Megan Arthur (Lowville, N.Y./South Lewis) finished almost a minute behind Peck (23:32) in 133rd place. Junior Catherine Armani-Munn (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Seton Catholic) ran four places behind Arthur (137th) in a time of 23:45. Senior Brittany Brewer (Binghamton, N.Y./Binghamton) placed 146th overall (24:17) while junior Joelle Soules (Binghamton, N.Y./Chenango Valley) finished 152nd (25:11).
The Storm will next run at the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championships on Saturday, Oct. 27 at Penn State-Berks.
