Storm Take 4th at NEACs

The women’s cross country team placed fourth out of seven teams at the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championships at Penn State-Berks on Saturday.  Keuka’s score of 100 was 69 points behind the Giants of Keystone College (31) who won the championship.  Penn State-Berks (63) and Baptist Bible College (70) finished second and third.  Placing after the Storm were D’Youville College (111), Wells College (139), and Penn State-Harrisburg (178).

Sophomore leader Lindsey Peck (Williamson, N.Y./Williamson) finished the 5K race in 16th place overall out of 58 runners.  Her time of 23:56 was good enough to help her land a spot on the All-NEAC honorable mention team.

Senior Brittany Brewer (Binghamton, N.Y./Binghamton) finished just two spots behind Peck (18th overall) in a time of 24:23 to also earn a spot on the All-NEAC honorable mention team.

Rookie Megan Arthur (Lowville, N.Y./South Lewis) missed receiving All-NEAC status by one spot as she placed 22nd overall.  Arthur ran in a time of 24:45.  Junior Catherine Armani-Munn (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Seton Catholic) placed 25th overall in a time of 25:20.  Freshman Emily Laforce (Massena, N.Y./Madrid-Waddington) rounded out the Storm’s top-five by placing 35th overall with a final time of 27:09.
