Tigers Pounce on Storm

Keuka’s offense was silenced by the visiting Tigers of the Rochester Institute of Technology in the Storm’s 16-4 loss on Wednesday. Keuka falls to 3-4 overall while RIT inches above .500 at 6-5.
The Tigers came out scoring right from the start as they netted the game’s first five goals before the Storm’s Ann Shatraw (Morristown, N.Y./Carthage) put Keuka on the scoreboard with her 12th goal of the season. Unfortunately, Shatraw’s goal couldn’t halt the Tigers momentum as they proceeded to score four more unanswered goals to give RIT a 9-1 edge after the first half. of play.
Keuka netted three goals in the second half but it wasn’t enough as RIT continued to score, tallying seven more to make it a 16-4 ball game. RIT out-shot Keuka 35-17 while the Storm finished with two more groundballs (22-20).
Shatraw finished with two goals while Brandy Shafer (Rochester, N.Y./Eastridge) and Carey Glover (East Syracuse, N.Y./MCC) each netted one goal a piece.
Eileen Hennigan led the Tigers offense with four goals while Amanda Crozier dished off five assists while scoring twice.
Keuka’s Audrey Randall (Fabius, N.Y./Fabius-Pompey) finished with nine saves while RIT used three goalies to combine on nine saves.
The Storm will next play host to Wells College on Tuesday, April 22 at 7:00 pm.
