Burke Headed for the Hall
August 22, 2008
Jamie Burke, who directs the women’s soccer and softball programs at Keuka College, will be inducted into the Section V Basketball Hall of Fame this fall.
Also selected for induction was Burke’s father, Jim, the highly successful hoops coach at Prattsburgh High School.
Jamie is the second leading scorer in the history of Section V girl’s basketball with 2,458 points and the first girl in Section V to eclipse 2,000 career points. She played on three sectional champion teams and was a first-team All-New York state performer in 1994.
At Keuka, Burke has compiled a 67-24 record and led the Storm to two consecutive (2007-08) NCAA softball tournament berths in three seasons as coach. Her soccer teams have gone 22-12 in two seasons and last fall earned a trip to the ECAC tourney.
