Armani-Munn Paces Storm at Oswego Invite

Senior Catherine Armani-Munn led the Storm with a time of 21:51.
The Keuka College women’s cross country team opened its 2008 season with a 12th place showing at the SUNY Oswego Invitational on Saturday. Keuka finished with 407 points in the 4.5K race while Ithaca College (46) had five of the top 15 runners to take first.
SUNY Cortland took second out of the 14 teams with a 59 as Houghton College followed with a score of 111. R.I.T. (118) and Roberts Wesleyan (124) took fourth and fifth, respectively.
Keuka was led by senior Catherine Armani-Munn (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Seton Catholic)as she ran the race in 21:51 to finish 107th overall out of 153 runners. Armani-Munn ran an average mile of 7:49.
Placing second for the Storm was rookie Heather Fischer (Marietta, N.Y./Tully) in 132nd place with a time of 23:04. Senior Lindsey Peck (Sodus, N.Y./Williamson)finished right behind Fischer in 133rd place (23:25). Keuka’s final senior, Joelle Soules (Binghamton, N.Y./Chenango Valley), finished fourth for the Storm in 141st place (24:43) while freshman Maddie Reynolds (Clinton, N.Y./Clinton) rounded out the Storm’s top-five by placing 142nd overall with a time of 24:58.
The Storm will next host Wells College in the Keuka College Invitational at the Keuka Lake State Park this Thursday, Sept. 18 beginning at 4 pm.
