Freshman Scott Matheis took first place overall at the Keuka Invite

Keuka College took the top four spots en route to a first place finish at the Keuka College Invitational on Thursday.

The Storm ended with a score of 16, well ahead of Wells College’s 44.  The 8K race was run at the Keuka Lake State Park.

Keuka freshman Scott Matheis (Barker, N.Y./Barker) paced all runners with a time of 29:31.  Classmate Ben Young (Rochester, N.Y./Gates Chili) took second with a time of 30:29.

Sophomore Kraig Connor (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Olympia) ended third overall with a time of 30:53.  Junior Ryan Stack (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park) gave the Storm the top four sports with his time of 32:18.  Stack beat his last season’s time by almost minute (33:03).

After the first Wells runner finished in fifth place overall, Keuka sophomore Josh Uline (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton) took sixth overall in a time of 33:37 to beat his last season’s time by a minute and ten seconds.

The Storm will next race in the Hobart Invitational this Saturday, Sept. 20 beginning at noon.
