Peck Takes Second; Storm Take First at Keuka Invite

Senior Lindsey Peck placed second overall at the Keuka Invite.
Behind the running of its senior class, Keuka’s women’s cross country team took first place at the second annual Keuka College Invitational on Thursday.
The Storm finished with a final score of 22 to Wells College’s 42 in the 5K race held at the Keuka Lake State Park. The Express had the first place finisher, but the Storm took second, third, fourth, sixth, and seventh to pick up the win. Wells’ Kristen Musciano won the race with a time of 22:30.
Senior Lindsey Peck (Sodus, N.Y./Williamson) placed second overall in a time of 23:12. Peck bested her last season’s time by 35 seconds. Classmate Catherine Armani-Munn (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Seton Catholic) took third overall in a time 23:38, 17 seconds faster then last season.
Rookie Heather Fischer (Marietta, N.Y./Tully)finished fourth overall and third for Keuka with a time of 23:54. After another Wells runner placed, Keuka freshman Bridget White (Blooming Glen, PA/Pennridge) finished with a time of 25:24. Senior Joelle Soules (Binghamton, N.Y./Chenango Valley)rounded out the Storm’s top-5 with her seventh place finish (25:33). Slimming down her last season’s time of 26:16.
The Storm will next race at the Hobart Invitational this Saturday, Sept. 20 beginning at 11 am.
