Men’s Harriers Take Third at Hobart Invite

Keuka received another strong outing from rookie Scott Matheis (Barker, N.Y./Barker) while taking third out of four teams at the Hobart College Invitational on Saturday.

Hobart had the top two runners in the 8K race but took second with a score of 39 behind Utica College’s 26.  Utica had the 3-6 and 8-10 runners.  Keuka finished with an 80, 27 points ahead of Wells College.

Matheis, fresh off of setting a course record and winning the Keuka Invitational on Thursday, placed seventh overall out of 32 runners.  He finished in a time of 29:51.

Fellow Keuka freshman Ben Young (Rochester, N.Y./Gates Chili) placed 15th overall (31:46) to end second for the Storm.  Junior Ryan Stack (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park) and sophomore Josh Uline (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton) finished 22nd (34:42) and 23rd (34:48), respectively.  Freshman Parker Gazda (Syracuse, N.Y./ESM) rounded out the Storm’s top-five with his 27th place finish in a time of 35:36.

The Storm will next run at the SUNY Geneseo Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 4 beginning at noon.
