Sophomore Kyle Salo stopped nine shots in goal.
The Keuka College men’s soccer team lost for just the third time this season as they fell 1-0 on the road to the Tigers of Rochester Institute of Technology on Wednesday.
The loss drops Keuka to 10-3-1 overall and 2-2-1 on the road this season. It is only the third time this season that the Storm were unable to score a goal. RIT improves to 6-9-1 with the win. Read more

Tempesta Named RACA Athlete of the Week

Senior Mike Tempesta was named RACA Athlete of the Week.
Keuka College men’s soccer standout Mike Tempesta (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Olympia) was named Rochester Area College Athletics (RACA) Athlete of the Week for the week ending Oct. 25.

Overtime Goals Garner Gumtow and Tempesta AOTW Honors

Keuka College soccer stars Alyssa Gumtow (Framington, N.Y./Victor) and Mike Tempesta (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Olympia) were both named Athlete of the Week after both scoring overtime game-winning goals in the week of Oct. 25.
Gumtow, a junior forward, led Keuka to a 1-0-1 week while scoring two of the Storm’s three goals in its 3-2 double overtime win over SUNYIT. Gumtow’s first goal gave the Storm a 2-1 lead with 37 minutes remaining in the second half. The Wildcats tied the game in the 66th minute, sending it to overtime. In the second extra period, Keuka kicked a shot that was saved by SUNYIT’s goalie. Gumtow was in perfect position to kick in the rebound with just 1:39 left before the end of the game. For the season, Gumtow has three goals and four assists for 10 points.
Tempesta, a senior midfielder, helped guide Keuka to a 2-0 week while single handedly winning the Storm’s game against Daemen College. Trailing 2-0 in the second half, Tempesta cut the Wildcats lead to 2-1 after scoring on a penalty kick (2-for-2 on the season). Tempesta then assisted on the game-tying goal in the 62nd minute. In overtime, Tempesta kicked in the game-winner 6:31 into the extra period to give the Storm the win. On the year, Tempesta has three goals and a team-leading five assists for 11 points.
Volleyball Ends Regular Season with a Pair of Wins

Senior Diana Frank passed off 47 assists and served up six aces in the Storm's two wins.
The Keuka College volleyball team finished off its 2008 regular season with a pair of wins at the Penn State-Berks tri-match on Saturday. The Storm started the day by defeating NEAC foe Penn State-Berks in five sets (3-2) before blanking the College of St. Elizabeth (3-0).
With the two wins Keuka ends the regular season with a 16-13 overall record and a 4-2 conference mark. Penn State-Berks drops to 9-13 overall and 2-4 in the NEAC. Read more

Scott Wins Game with Just Two Seconds Left in Double OT

Senior Brandon Scott's 16th career game-winning goal came with just two seconds left in double overtime.
With just eight seconds remaining before the end of the second overtime, Keuka’s two forwards went coast-to-coast to score the game-winner with just two seconds left and give Keuka a 2-1 win over the Wildcats of SUNYIT.
The win moves the Storm to double digits with a record of 10-2-1 while SUNYIT falls to 9-7-1. Read more
Gumtow Wins it for Storm in Double Overtime

Junior Alyssa Gumtowscored the game-winner with just 1:39 left in double overtime.
The Keuka women’s soccer team looked like it was heading for its fourth double overtime tie in its last five games, until junior Alyssa Gumtow (Farmington, N.Y./Victor) netted her second goal of the game with just 1:39 left in the second overtime. Gumtow’s goal gave the Storm a 3-2 win over the visiting Wildcats of SUNYIT.
With the win, Keuka improves to 6-5-3 overall and remain undefeated in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play (6-0-1). SUNYIT falls to 8-8 overall and 4-4 in the conference. Read more
