Volleyball Wins Fourth Straight

The Keuka College volleyball team used a complete team effort to win its fourth straight game as they knocked off the Saxons of Alfred University by a score of 3-1 on Thursday.

Keuka improves to 11-8 overall while Alfred falls to 1-11.  The game, played at Alfred, was a make-up game from Sept. 22.

Keuka received kills from 12 of its players and 35 overall while also finishing with 11 service aces and 67 digs.  Sophomore Katy Geers (Fulton, N.Y./G. Ray Bodley) led the Storm with nine assists and 12 digs.

Rookie Rachel Perry (Nichols, N.Y./Tioga) and sophomore Sarah Fredricks (Milton, Ontario/E.C. Drury) each finished with five kills to lead the Storm.  Freshman Vanessa Coney (Lyons, N.Y./Lyons) and junior Holly McHale (Carthage, N.Y./Jefferson CC) both chipped in with 10 digs a piece.

Four different Storm players finished with at least two aces with sophomore Raelle Naegely (Colorado Springs, CO/Pine Creek) led with three.

The Storm will next play at Nazareth College this Wednesday, Oct. 8 beginning at 7 pm.
