Lady Storm Runners Take 16th at Geneseo Invite

Senior Catherine Armani-Munn placed first for the Storm in a time of 29:02.
The women’s cross country team totaled a score of 481 to finish in 16th place at the SUNY Geneseo Invitational on Saturday.
The 6K race at the Letchworth State Park, featured 17 teams and 199 runners. Geneseo claimed the top spot with a score of 25 as they had five of the top 11 spots. SUNY Plattsburgh took second (81) while the University of Rochester (86) ended third. R.I.T. (100) and Houghton College (133) took fourth and fifth, respectively.
For the Storm it was senior Catherine Armani-Munn (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Seton Catholic) leading the way with a 154th place finish. Armani-Munn ran the race in a time of 29:02 after missing the Storm’s last race due to an injury.
Fellow senior Lindsey Peck (Sodus, N.Y./Williamson), who placed first for the Storm the previous two races, followed Armani-Munn in 165th place in a time of 29:45.
Freshman Heather Fischer (Marietta, N.Y./Tully) placed third for Keuka in 175th place (30:53). Senior Joelle Soules (Binghamton, N.Y./Chenango Valley) finished just six seconds behind Fischer in 176th place while rookie Julia Hansen (Holley, N.Y./Holley) rounded out the Storm’s top-five in 184th place (32:03).
Keuka will next run at the Nazareth College Invitational this Saturday, Oct. 11 beginning at 1 pm.
