Winning Streak Hits Four for Men’s Soccer

A pair of goals in under four minutes from senior forward Brandon Scott (Fillmore, N.Y./Fillmore) was enough to ensure a fourth straight victory for the Storm. Keuka knocked off the visiting Spartans of D’Youville College 3-1 on Tuesday.
Keuka out-shot D’Youville 36-4 as they improve to 7-1-1 overall while D’Youville falls to 1-10 on the year.
The Spartans gave the Storm a scare, netting the game’s first goal in the 17th minute of the first half. D’Youville’s John Geddis tallied his first goal of the season off a pass from Ted Maul. The Spartans goal lit a fire in the Storm as they proceeded to score three straight unanswered goals.
The Storm’s first goal came courtesy of Scott in the 24th minute. The forward kicked in his ninth goal of the year off a rebound. Scott would add his tenth goal not even four minutes later. This goal came courtesy of a Brian Cunliffe (Rochester, N.Y./Gates Chili) assist. The goal would be the game-winner, Scott’s fourth straight game with the game-winner.

cushion with his first score of the season in the 31st minute. Junior Tyler Shaw (Portville, N.Y./Portville) recorded his third assist on the play.
The second half saw the Storm out-shoot D’Youville 19-1 but neither team was able to score. The Storm’s defense played another sensational game as they lowered its opponents shots per game to 10.7.
D’Youville’s Dan Cornelius finished with 11 saves in goal while allowing the three scores. Keuka’s Mike Meskill (Trumansburg, N.Y./Charles O. Dickerson) stopped two shots while allowing the one goal.
The Storm will next put its four-game winning streak on the line at Penn State-Harrisburg this Saturday, Oct. 11 beginning at 2:30 pm.
