The Keuka College women’s soccer team remained undefeated in the NEAC as it scored the game-winner with just 31 seconds remaining in the game to lift them to a 2-1 win over Penn State-Harrisburg.

The Storm evened its overall record for the first time this season at 5-5-1 while improving its NEAC mark to 5-0-1.  The Lions fall to 4-6 overall.

With time about to expire and the two teams knotted up at one goal a piece.  Keuka senior midfielder Brenna Leach (Rochester, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) picked a good time to score her first goal of the season.  Thirty-one seconds was all that was left out of the 90 minutes of action when Leach netted her goal.  The goal, the 12th of Leach’s career, came unassisted.

Neither team was able to mount any offense in the first half as Keuka ripped nine shots while holding Penn State-Harrisburg to just three.  Keuka finally broke the scoreless tie when sophomore Molly McGuigan (Conklin, N.Y./Susquehanna Valley) netted her third goal of the season in the 59th

The lead would not last as the Lions Jenn Gellatly tied the game in the 66th minute.  The two teams would go scoreless over the next 20+ minutes until Leach’s goal.

Keuka out-shot the Lions 14-9 in the game as Keuka’s Ashley Vail (Rochester, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) stopped three shots in goal while allowing just the one goal.  Harrisburg’s Angela Gilmore finished with seven saves.

The Storm will next play host to Hartwick College this Saturday, Oct. 18 beginning at 1 pm.
