Seniors Pace Lady Runners at U. of R Invite

Senior Catherine Armani-Munn placed 148th overall.
The women’s cross country team ran to a 16th place finish out of 16 teams at the University of Rochester Yellowjacket Invitational on Saturday.
The 5K race, which was run at GeneseeValley Park, boasted 183 runners. The Storm finished with a team score of 492 while SUNY Geneseowon the race witha 37. Cornell University’s “B” team took second place with a 50. The Big Red were followed by the University of Western Ontario (69), the host Yellowjackets (145), and Houghton College (153).
Keuka senior Catherine Armani-Munn (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Seton Catholic)was the first Keuka runner to finish as she ran in a time of 23:43 for a 148th place finish. Twenty seconds behind (24:03) was fellow senior Lindsey Peck (Sodus, N.Y./Williamson) in 155th place overall.
Rookie Heather Fischer (Marietta, N.Y./Tully) was 160th overall in a time of 24:32. Senior Joelle Soules (Binghamton, N.Y./Chenango Valley) took fourth for Keuka in 171st place edging out teammate Julia Hansen (Holley, N.Y./Holley) by not even one second (26:20:05 – 26:20:46).
The Storm will next run at the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championships on Saturday, Nov. 1 beginning at 1 pm at SUNY Cobleskill.
