Storm Volleyball Stung by Yellowjackets

Sophomore Kate Kraus collected 23 digs in the loss.
The Keuka volleyball team dropped a non-conference match-up against the Yellowjackets of the University of Rochester by a score of 3-0 on the road Thursday.
The Storm managed just 25 kills and an attack percentage of .146 as they fall to 14-13 on the year. The Yellowjackets received 11 kills from Jessica Rasmussen as they improve to 9-18 overall. Read more

Tempesta Caps Off Storm’s Comeback in Overtime

Senior Mike Tempesta netted the game-winning goal in overtime.
Down 2-0 in the second half, Keuka scored three unanswered goals to knock off the visiting Wildcats of Daemen College 3-2 in overtime on Tuesday.
With the win, the Storm move up to 9-2-1 while Daemen, an NAIA school, falls to 1-13-1 on the year.
Keuka received a big game from senior midfielder Mike Tempesta (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Olympia) who capped off the night by drilling the game-winner, 6:31 into the first overtime. Read more
Women’s Soccer Ties for Third Time in Last Four Games

Junior Kelly Josephson and the rest of Keuka's defense helped keep Elmira scoreless for 110 minutes.
The Keuka College women’s soccer team tied Elmira College 0-0 after two overtimes on Tuesday at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex. It is the third time in the Storm’s last four games that they have ended in a tie.
With the tie, Keuka now stands at 5-5-3 overall while Elmira sits at 2-12-1 on the year. Read more

Jordan and Naegely Ride Big Weeks to Keuka Athlete of the Week Honors

Senior Shana Jordan (Williamson, N.Y./Wayne) and sophomore Raelle Naegely (Colorado Springs, CO/Pine Creek) enjoyed excellent weeks and were rewarded for them by being named the Keuka College Athletes of the Week for the week ending Oct. 18.
Jordan, a senior midfielder on the Storm’s 5-5-2 women’s soccer team, kicked in the game-tying goal in the Storm’s 1-1 tie against Hartwick College. With Keuka trailing 1-0 and only 4:35 seconds left in regulation, Jordan scored her fifth goal of the season off a throw-in. Neither team was able to score in the two overtimes as they ended in a tie. For her career, Jordan has 19 goals and 50 points, both are 15th all-time at Keuka.
Naegely, a sophomore outside hitter on Keuka’s 14-12 volleyball team, led the Storm to a 2-1 week while leading every game in kills. Naegely crushed 16 kills and added 14 digs in a 3-1 win over Alfred University. She then had games of nine and 10 kills. For the week she led with 35 kills and 28 digs. Naegely currently leads the Storm with 218 kills (2.56 a game), is third in digs (135), and fourth in aces (25).
Seniors Pace Lady Runners at U. of R Invite

Senior Catherine Armani-Munn placed 148th overall.
The women’s cross country team ran to a 16th place finish out of 16 teams at the University of Rochester Yellowjacket Invitational on Saturday.
The 5K race, which was run at GeneseeValley Park, boasted 183 runners. The Storm finished with a team score of 492 while SUNY Geneseowon the race witha 37. Cornell University’s “B” team took second place with a 50. The Big Red were followed by the University of Western Ontario (69), the host Yellowjackets (145), and Houghton College (153). Read more
Pair of Rookies Lead Men’s Harriers at U. of R Invite

Freshman Ben Young finished first for the Storm for the first time this season.
Keuka’a men’s cross country team took 16th out of 16 teams at the University of Rochester’s Yellowjacket Invitational on Saturday.
Running in its final invite before the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) championships, the Storm ended with a final score of 493. Cornell University’s “B” squad won the 8K race held at the Genesee Valley Park with a total of 24. SUNY Geneseo took second with a 63, followed by the University of Western Ontario (93), SUNY Fredonia (126), and the host Yellowjackets (130). Read more
