Volleyball Season Ends with 3-0 Loss in NEAC Semifinals

The Keuka College volleyball team had its season come to a close with a 3-0 loss to the Spartans of D’Youville College in the semifinals of the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Tournament on Friday, Nov. 7.

The Storm finish the season 16-14 overall.  D’Youville improves to 23-10 overall and will square off against top seeded SUNYIT in the championship on Saturday.

The Storm fell to the Spartans in straight sets, losing (18-25, 15-25, and 16-25).  Keuka finished with a negative .010 attack percentage while the Spartans sported an impressive .455 attack percentage. 

Sophomore outside hitter Raelle Naegely (Colorado Springs, CO/Pine Creek) led the Storm with six kills, eight digs, and two blocks.  Junior Holly McHale (Carthage, N.Y./Jefferson CC) added a team-high 10 digs while setters Diana Frank (West Valley, N.Y./West Valley) and Katy Geers (Fulton, N.Y./G. Ray Bodley) each dished off seven assists.  Frank added a team-high two service aces.

D’Youville’s Falicia Golden recorded a game-high 17 kills while the Spartans setter, Siblea McFarland, passed out 45 assists.
