Seven Women’s Soccer Players; Coach Honored by NEAC

Junior defender Kelly Josephson was named the 2008 NEAC Women's Soccer Player of the Year.
After winning the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) regular season title with a 7-0-1 record and then winning the NEAC Tournament by outscoring its opponents 10-1 in three games. It comes as no surprise that the Storm players were well represented on the All-Conference teams.
Seven players in all, led by junior defender Kelly Josephson (Jamestown, N.Y./Maple Grove) who took home the top honor. Head coach Jamie Burke was tabbed as NEAC Coach of the Year for the third year in a row.
Josephson, fresh off being named the NEAC Tournament MVP, was voted the NEAC Player of the Year. Josephson, the team’s sweeper, helped the Storm go undefeated in the conference for the second year in row while also helping Keuka lead the NEAC in goals allowed (1.21), goals against average (1.14), and shutouts (5).
Joining Josephson on the All-NEAC first team was sophomore forward Alyssa Hermenet (Williamson, N.Y./Williamson) and senior midfielder Shana Jordan (Williamson, N.Y./Wayne). Hermenet currently leads the Storm in points with 19 while dishing out a team-high

seven assists. She also is tied for second on the team with six goals. Jordan is second on the team in points (17) while sharing the team-lead in goals (7). Jordan also passed out three assists.
Named to the All-NEAC second team was senior midfielder Brenna Leach (Rochester, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy), sophomore defender Molly McGuigan (Conklin, N.Y./Susquehanna Valley), and sophomore goalie Ashley Vail (Rochester, N.Y./Churchville-Chili). Leach finished the year with a goal and four assists for six points. McGuigan totaled three goals and two assists (8 points) from the midfield position before moving to the backfield. Vail started all 18 games in goal and ended with 87 saves, four shutouts, and an 8.29 save percentage.
Junior midfielder Jessica VanScoter (Canisteo, N.Y./Canisteo-Greenwood) was tabbed as a third team All-NEAC selection. VanScoter finished with three goals and five assists for 11 points.
