Hoop Stars Named Athletes of the Week

Sophomore Brittany Schrock (Elmira Heights, N.Y./Thomas Edison) and senior Justin Stern (Dewitt, N.Y./Jamesville Dewitt)were both named Keuka College Athletes of the Week for the week ending Nov. 23.
Schrock, a 5-7 guard on the Storm’s 0-4 women’s hoops squad, led Keuka in scoring while being named to the Buffalo State All-Tournament Team. Schrock netted a team-high 13 points in the Storm’s loss to Alfred University. She followed that up with 12 points in both of the Storm’s losses in the Tournament. Schrock made seven 3-pointers in the two tournament games and eight for the week. Schrock also had nine rebounds, four assists, three steals, and a block.
Stern, a 6-2 guard on Keuka’s 2-0 men’s basketball team, was on fire from behind the arc as he made 10 3-pointers in the Storm’s first two games of the season. Stern scored a game-high 24 points while going 6-for-8 from behind the arc in the Storm’s 79-52 win over SUNY Canton. He followed that up with 14 points, going 4-for-9 from 3-point range. Stern also pulled down 11 rebounds, dished of eight assists, and collected three steals. He finished the week shooting 56% from the floor and an impressive 59% from behind the arc. Stern also went 8-for-9 from the free throw line (89%).
