The Keuka College men’s soccer team earned plenty of accolades for there work on the field in 2008.  Now the Storm are receiving some recognition for its work in the classroom.

Coach Tantalo’s program was rewarded with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award for 2007-08.  The Storm posted a team GPA of 3.07 out of a possible 4.0.

Keuka was one of only 107 men’s teams across all three NCAA divisions to be given this distinction.  The Storm joined the University of Rochester, Rochester Institute of Technology, and SUNY Geneseo as the only local DIII teams to be honored.  Keuka was the only North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) school to be given this award.  In order to be recognized, a team must carry a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Keuka had a banner year in 2008, going 12-4-2 overall and making it to the NEAC Tournament championship.  The team sported the NEAC Player of the Year as well as five All-NEAC selections.
