Durr and Griggs Take Home Keuka Athlete of the Week Honors

Junior men’s basketball player Peter Durr (Barneveld, N.Y./Utica Notre Dame) and freshman synchronized swimmer Kristeena Griggs (Hamden, CT/Hamden) were both named Keuka College Athletes of the Week for their sensational performances over the week of Jan. 24.
Durr, a 6-1 shooting guard on the Storm’s 4-8 basketball squad, led Keuka to a 1-1 week while averaging 18 points a game. Durr scored 14 points while going 5-for-9 from the floor in a 69-67 win over D’Youville College. He followed that up with a 22-point performance in a loss to SUNYIT. Durr nailed six of his 12 3-point attempts, including going 5-for-7 in the second half. In the two games, Durr shot 50% (12-for-24) from the floor while going 7-for-16 from behind the arc. He also averaged 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 0.5 steals a game. On the season, Durr is scoring 12.3 points a game.
Griggs, a rookie on Keuka’s No. 7 nationally ranked synchro team, helped guide Keuka to a second place finish at the Ohio State University tri-meet. Keuka defeated the University of Michigan but lost to the Buckeyes. Griggs was the top finisher in “C” figures posting a score of 64.447. She then took third place in both the trio and duet routines. In trio, Griggs teamed with Courteny Karolinko and Tracy Ringel while posting a score of 80.833, trailing only two Buckeye teams. In the duet, Griggs paired with Brianne Lojo to take third behind two Ohio State duets with a score of 80.000.
