The Storm wasted little time in assuring that its current winning streak would stay intact as they jumped out to a 29-point halftime lead en route to an 85-50 win on the road at rival Cazenovia College.

The 35-point win ups Keuka’s winning streak to four games while moving them one game away from .500 at 6-7 overall.  Cazenovia, which started the year on an 11-game losing streak, now stands at 1-16 overall.

Keuka came out on fire in the first half shooting 50% (16-for-32) from the floor as they quickly jumped out to a 13-point lead (22-9) eight minutes into the half.  Keuka then outscored the Wildcats 29-13 over the final 12 minutes of the opening half to hold a commanding 51-22 halftime advantage.

The Storm’s offense slipped a little in the second half but its defense stayed very active as Cazenovia again was held to under 30% shooting from the floor.  Keuka outscored Cazenovia 34-28 in the second period.  For the game, the Storm shot at a 37% clip while the Wildcats shot 27%.  Keuka pulled down 20 more rebounds (60-40) while hitting eight 3-pointers to just two for Cazenovia.

Twelve differnt Keuka players recorded a point led by sophomore guard Brittany Schrock (Elmira Heights, N.Y./Thomas Edison) who scored a game-high 18 points.  Schrock recorded the majority of her points from the free throw line as she went a perfect 13-for-13.  Classmate Courtney Lincoln (Waterloo, N.Y./Waterloo) added 16 points and a game-high four assists while going 5-for-8 from the floor and hitting a pair of three’s.

Sophomore Jessica Fink (New Oxford, PA/New Oxford) was the only other Keuka player in double figures with 12 points as she went 3-for-6 from behind the arc.  Sophomore forward Nadia Madmoune (Rome, N.Y./Rome Free Academy) pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds to go with her four steals.

Cazenovia was led by Michelle Clarke’s 12 points while Collene Clarke had 11 points and five steals.

Keuka will next put its winning streak on the line this Saturday, Jan. 31 with a home game against Penn State-Berks beginning at 1 pm.
