Keuka will look to senior Audrey Randall for another huge season in-between the pipes.

The women’s lacrosse team will look to capture its first North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) crown in its first season as a conference member in 2009.

The Storm will need to replace the program’s all-time leading scorer in Ann Shatraw but return two high-scoring player’s from last season’s 5-5 squad.

Head coach Alena Krug will rely on the offensive production of sophomore Brandy Shafer (Rochester, N.Y./Eastridge) and senior Brenna Leach (Rochester, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) to guide them through the NEAC.  Shafer had a huge rookie season, leading the team with 25 goals and 30 points,  both Keuka College single-season records.  The attacker also dished off five assists.  Shafer scored five goals in a game as well as netted four goals in a game, twice.

Leach, a three-year starter, is near the top of the Keuka record book in all three major offensive categories.  She is No. 2 all-time in goals (54) and third in points (61).  Last season, was just like her first two seasons: 12 goals, three assists, and 18 points.  Also a pest on defense, Leach was ranked 13th in the nation in caused turnovers while becoming the Storm’s all-time leader in both ground balls (105) and draw controls (51).

Sophomore Laura Dougherty (Geneva, N.Y./Geneva) returns to the attack position after scoring nine goals and six assists for 15 points.  Also back on the offensive side of the field is senior Katy Priestley (Lyons, N.Y./Lyons) who netted two goals to go with her four assists (six points).  Also back are sophomores Jennifer Bush (Endwell, N.Y./Maine-Endwell) – 0-1-1, and Courtney Potochniak (Endicott, N.Y./Maine-Endwell)

Senior goalie Audrey Randall (Fabius, N.Y./Fabius-Pompey) returns after recording 87 saves for a .455 save percentage in her first season.

Returning to the starting line up on the defensive side of the field will be seniors Kayla Collins (Johnstown, N.Y./Johnstown) – 12 ground balls, Trista Partridge (Bath, N.Y./Haverling) – 1-0-1, and Jessica Whitaker (Remsen, N.Y./Holland Patent).  Also back on defense will be senior Bridget Carroll (Dallas, PA/Naples) and sophomores Elizabeth Tondeur (Endwell, N.Y./Maine-Endwell), Mary Nicholas (Geneva, N.Y./DeSales), Elizabeth Vozga (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn), Katie Heymann (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads), and Denise Osborne (Waterloo, N.Y./Waterloo)

New to the team will be attacker Brittany Murray (Heuvelton, N.Y./Heuvelton), defenders Jenn York (Rochester, N.Y./MCC), Jessica Ozl (Manassas, VA/Osbourne Park), Kayla McLachlan (Schenectady, N.Y./Guilderland), and Bridgett White (Blooming Glan, PA/Pennridge), as well as goalies Emma Ninestine (Geneva, N.Y./Geneva) and Melinda Reynolds (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Arcadia).

The Storm will begin its ‘09 campaign with a game against SUNY Potsdam at Hobart College on March 14 beginning at 7 p.m.  Its first home game will be April 3 against Wells College (4 p.m.).
