Coleman’s Late Heroics Do it Again!

Junior Alex Coleman's lay-up with six second left gave the Storm its third straight victory.
Add one more game-winning shot to junior point guards Alex Coleman’s (Elmira, N.Y./Southside) resume. This one, a lay-up with six seconds left, gave the Storm a 49-47 win over the visiting Fighting Tigers of SUNY Cobleskill in Keuka’s final regular season game of the year.
Keuka now sits at 11-10 overall as Cobleskill falls to 7-15 on the year.
Coleman hit back-to-back 3-pointers with under three minutes remaining to give the Storm a 3-point lead (47-44). A made free throw and a lay-up by Cobleskill’s Taiquan Newkirk tied the game with just 1:23 left on the clock. Each team had an empty possession before Coleman drove to the hoop and hit the game-winning lay-up with six seconds left. Read more

Sophomore Nadia Madmoune had a team-high 10 rebounds, five steals, three assists, and three blocks in the win.
The Keuka women’s basketball team faced a tough test to keep its winning streak alive in its final regular season game of the season. That test was the Fighting Tigers of SUNY Cobleskill, the only North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) team to defeat the Storm this year.
Give the Storm an A+ as they passed the test with a 48-41 win on Saturday. The win gives the Storm a 12-game winning streak to use as momentum heading into the NEAC Tournament this coming weekend. Keuka now sits at 14-7 overall while Cobleskill falls to 17-6 on the year. Read more

Junior Melissa Thurston tallied 11 points, five assists, four rebounds, and three steals in the Storm's 11th straight win.
Keuka College’s women’s basketball team continued its winning ways while continuing to play ferocious defense in a 60-41 win over rival Cazenovia College on Thursday night at the Weed Physical Arts Center.
The win is the Storm’s 11th straight with just one more regular season game left to play. Keuka now stands at 13-7 overall as they sweep the Wildcats on the year. Cazenovia falls to 2-22 overall. Read more
Men’s Hoops Even Record After Win Over Rival Caz

Senior Garret Herthum posted a huge double-double of 16 points and 17 rebounds to help Keuka win its 10th game of the season.
The Keuka College men’s basketball team won its sixth game out of its last eight as they knocked off the visiting Wildcats of Cazenovia College by a score of 78-68 on Thursday night at the Weed Physical Arts Center.
The win puts the Storm at 10-10 overall and marks the first time they have been .500 since they were 3-3 back on Jan. 4. Keuka sweeps the season series as they also defeated the Wildcats (75-63) back on Jan. 29. Cazenovia falls to 6-18 overall.
The two teams traded leads the whole first half with 12 lead changes to go along with nine ties. A jumper by sophomore Chas Tangredi (Troy, N.Y./Troy) with 1:14 left gave the Storm a two-point (36-34) lead that they would carry into the second half. Read more

Sophomore Jessica Fink sank five 3-pointers in the win.
The Keuka College women’s basketball team won its tenth straight game as they knocked off the visiting Spartans of D’Youville College by a score of 63-54 on Tuesday night.
The win against D’Youville is the Storm’s second during its current 10-game winning streak, that dates back to Jan. 17, as they improve to 12-7. D’Youville falls to 12-11 overall.
Keuka never trailed as they jumped out to a 5-0 lead and never looked back. Keuka outscored the Spartans 28-15 in the opening half to hold a 13-point lead at the break. The Storm’s defense held D’Youville to just 18% (5-for-28) shooting from the floor and zero percent from behind the arc (0-for-8). Read more
