NEAC Tournament Champs!
March 1, 2009

Sophomore Courtney Lincoln had 10 points and nine assists while being named the Tournament MVP.
The Keuka College women’s basketball team is headed back to the “Big Dance” after knocking off the No. 5 seeded Nittany Lions of Penn State-Berks by a score of 76-57 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Tournament championship game on Sunday.
With the win, the Storm’s 15th straight, Keuka was able to prove that it deserved the No. 1 seed for the NEAC Tournament as well as accept the automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament that comes with being the NEAC Tournament champs.
Keuka now sits at 17-7 overall while Penn State-Berks ends its season with a 13-15 overall record.
The Storm’s defense was right where it has been throughout this 15-game winning streak. Keuka held the Nittany Lions to just four first half field goals and just a 13 shooting percentage in the opening half. Keuka had 16 field goals in the opening half as they held a huge 40-18 lead at the break.
The two teams were pretty equal in the second half with Berks shooting 14-for-38 and Keuka going 14-for-36. That left little room for the Nittany Lions to get back in the game. The Storm held a one-rebound advantage (49-48) while causing 20 Berks turnovers. Keuka also passed out 11 more assists (20-9).
Sophomore Courtney Lincoln (Waterloo, N.Y./Waterloo) enjoyed a huge game with 10 points and nine assists as she was named the Tournament MVP. Lincoln added three rebounds and a pair of steals. Classmate Brittany Schrock (Elmira Heights, N.Y./Thomas Edison) had her second straight game with over 20 points as she finished with 22 points. Schrock sank six of her 11 3-point attempts while going 8-for-15 overall. Sophomore Jessica Fink (New Oxford, PA/New Oxford) added 10 points while hitting two 3-pointers.
Senior Angela Viggiani (Kent, N.Y./Albion) had a big game in the paint finishing with 14 rebounds, six points, and three steals. Sophomore’s Nadia Madmoune (Rome, N.Y./Rome Free Acad.) and Heather Fish (Newfield, N.Y./Newfield) finished with six points and seven rebounds – seven points and six rebounds, respectively.
Berks was led by Steph Binder’s 23 points as well as Courtney Bailey’s nine points and 18 rebounds.
