Storm Swept by Penn State-Abington

Sophomore Mike Marsh tossed a complete game in the first game.
The Keuka College baseball team continued on its tough start to the ‘09 season as they were swept in a double header by Penn State-Abington on Friday, March 27. Keuka lost game one 3-0 and game two 8-1.
Abington improves to 11-8 overall while Keuka falls to 0-5.
In game one, sophomore Mike Marsh (Elmira, N.Y./Southside) pitched a complete game while allowing just seven hits and striking out two. Abington plated two runs in the fourth and a third run in the fifth inning. Fellow sophomore Matt Dunn (Walden, N.Y./Chapel Field) had Keuka’s only hit of the game.
The night cap saw Abington score a run in the second, three in the third, another run in the fourth, and three more in the fifth. Keuka was able to plate one run in the top of the seventh inning. Senior Josiah DelGrosso (Montour Falls, N.Y./Corning Christian) suffered the loss on the hill while rookie Adam Jordan (Sodus, N.Y./Sodus) retired all five batters he faced in relief.
Sophomore David Janiszeski (Clarence, N.Y./Clarence) led the Keuka bats going 2-for-4 with a double while Jordan scored Keuka’s lone run.
