Storm Rout Wells in First NEAC Game

Playing in its first-ever North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) game, the Keuka men’s lacrosse team wasted little time proving its dominance in the league. The Storm routed the Express of Wells College to a tune of 25-1 on Thursday at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.
The Storm out-shot Wells 72-8 in the game while picking up 31 more ground balls (44-13). Keuka also dominated the face-offs, winning 26-of-30. Rookie Dave D’Ambosia (Penfield, N.Y./Schroeder) led the way winning 11-of-12. Keuka also went perfect in clears (21-for-21) while Wells successfully cleared just 11 of its 27 chances.
Keuka jumped out 7-1 after the first period and then blanked the Express 5-0 in the second to hold a 12-1 advantage at halftime. Keuka outscored Wells 8-0 in the third and 5-0 in the fourth to close out the scoring.
Sophomore David Miller (East Syracuse, N.Y./ESM) had a career-game with five goals and three assists to finish with eight points. Rookie Connor Brown (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Ludden) chipped in with three goals and three assists, giving him eight points on the year. Fellow freshman Parker Gazda (Syracuse, N.Y./ESM) added three goals while setting up two goals as sophomore Stephen Ferguson (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) also netted three goals while assisting on another.
Freshman Gino Marcella (Rochester, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) scored three times while senior TJ Radka (Waterloo, N.Y./Cayuga CC) added two scores and an assist. Rookie Tim Mandell (Corning, N.Y./Corning East) had one goal with four assists as senior Drew Kunda (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) and freshman Mason Brown (Dundee, N.Y./Dundee) each tallied a goal and an assist. Freshman Dave Colicchia (East Amherst, N.Y./Clarence) passed out four dimes.
Also scoring goals for the Storm were seniors Adam Farrell (Hamburg, N.Y./Frontier) and Chris Sullivan (East Northport, N.Y./Northport) and sophomore Peter Hart (Webster, N.Y./Thomas).
Sophomore goalie Jon Curry (Hamburg, N.Y./Frontier) stopped three shots in 45 minutes of action while rookie Brian Enck (Webster, N.Y./Schroder) had one save in 15 minutes of play.
Keuka will next play host to King’s College this Wednesday, April 8 beginning at 7 pm.
