Radka’s Six Points Power Storm to Win
April 9, 2009

Senior TJ Radka led Keuka with six points.
Behind the sensational play of senior TJ Radka (Waterloo, N.Y./Cayuga CC), the Keuka men’s lacrosse team picked up an 8-4 win over King’s College on Wednesday. The game was played at Penn Yan’s High School field.
With the win, Keuka improves to 3-5 on the year while the Monarchs fall to 2-9.
The Storm jumped out to a 3-1 advantage after the first period and never relinquished the lead. Keuka’s defense played a superb game, limiting King’s to one goal each period and only 26 shots for the game. The Storm finished with 39 shots. Keuka also won the battle of face-offs, winning 11-of-16. Senior midfielder Chris Sullivan (East Northport, N.Y./Northport) led the charge going 9-for-13. Keuka also dominated the ground balls, collecting 33 to just 21 for King’s.
King’s goalie, Tim Cassi, had a superb game in between the pipes, otherwise the score could have been much more lopsided. Cassi stopped 17 shots while allowing just eight goals. Keuka’s Brett Leonard (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) had eight saves in goal while playing all 60 minutes and picking up his third win of the season.
Much like most games so far this season, the Storm’s offense was led by Radka. He finished with a game-high four goals while also setting up two other Storm tallies. For the year, Radka now has 12 goals and 12 assists (24 points) in just eight games.
Sullivan added a goal and two assists as freshman Connor Brown (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Ludden) had a goal and an assist. Fellow rookies Tim Mandell (Corning, N.Y./Corning East) and Parker Gazda (Syracuse, N.Y./ESM) each found the back of the net once.
Senior Drew Kunda (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) and sophomore Jamie Conway (East Syracuse, N.Y./ESM) each passed out one helper a piece.
Keuka will next face off against the Cardinals of St. John Fisher at home this Saturday, April 11 beginning at 2 pm.
