Barker, Storm Knock Off Cobleskill

Sophomore Patrick Barker picked up a singles and doubles win for Keuka.
Keuka’s men’s tennis team evened both of its records with a 6-3 win over the visiting Fighting Tigers of SUNY Cobleskill on Thursday.
Keuka now sits at 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC). Cobleskill slips to 0-4 overall and 0-1 in conference action.
Keuka won four of the six singles matches while winning two of the three doubles matches. Sophomore sensation Patrick Barker (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads) led the Storm’s attack winning the top flight of singles 6-4, 6-1. He then teamed with senior Justin Roe (Port Byron, N.Y./Port Byron) to win the second flight of doubles by a score of 8-0.
After losing the second flight of singles, junior Mike Fischer (Kattskill Bay, N.Y./Lake George) won the third flight by a score of 7-6, 6-2. Roe polished off his fourth flight opponent with a 6-2, 6-3 victory. Cobleskill took the fifth flight, but senior James Fitch (Perry, N.Y./Perry) stepped up to win the sixth flight 8-5.
Keuka narrowly lost the fist doubles match (9-7) but used that same score to win the third flight. Junior Casey Dahlstrom (Grand Island, N.Y./Grand Island) and sophomore Blaine Phair (Pembroke, NH/Pembroke) paired up for the win.
Keuka will next play host to Pitt-Bradford this Tuesday, April 14 beginning at 4 pm.
