Men’s Lacrosse Edged by Fisher

The Keuka men’s lacrosse team lost a close 6-4 game to the visiting Cardinals of St. John Fisher College on Saturday, April 11.
Fisher improves to 11-2 overall while Keuka slips to 3-6.
Neither team was able to score after one period of play before Fisher jumped out to a 3-1 lead at the end of the second period. Fisher again outscored Keuka 3-1 in the third period to take a commanding 6-2 lead heading into the final period.
Goals by seniors TJ Radka (Waterloo, N.Y./Cayuga CC) and Joe Hallowell (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Odyssey) cut the Storm’s deficit to 6-4 with eight minutes remaining. Unfortunately neither team would score again as the game would end in two-goal advantage for Fisher.
Keuka was out-shot 31-23 and lost the ground ball battle (29-23). Fisher won four more (9-5) face-offs while both teams finished with nine saves and 20 turnovers.
Rookie Parker Gazda (Syracuse, N.Y./ESM) and senior Drew Kunda (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) each netted a goal to go with Radka’s and Hallowell’s. Senior Chris Sullivan (East Northport, N.Y./Northport) and rookie Connor Brown (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Ludden) each passed out assists.
Sophomore Brett Leonard (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) stopped nine shots while playing the entire game.
Keuka will next take on Medaille College on the road this Tuesday, April 14 beginning at 2 pm.
