Storm Dominate Mavericks in 21-2 Win

The Keuka men’s lacrosse team picked up its second straight big North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) win with a 21-2 thrashing of the Mavericks of Medaille College on Tuesday, April 14.

Keuka improves to 5-6 overall and 2-0 in the conference with the win while Medaille slips to 3-7 overall and 1-1 in the NEAC.

Keuka blanked the Mavericks while scoring six first period goals.   The Storm then outscored Medaille 8-1 in the second to hold a 14-1 lead at the break.  Keuka outscored the Mavericks 3-0 and 4-1 in the final two periods.  Keuka ripped 47 shots on the day to just 21 for Medaille while also picking up 47 ground balls.  The Storm won 20-of-26 face-offs.

Keuka had 11 different players tally a goal with senior TJ Radka (Waterloo, N.Y./Cayuga CC) leading the way with five goals and three assists.  Classmate Drew Kunda (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) added four goals and three assists while sophomore Stephen Ferguson (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) and rookies Tim Mandell (Corning, N.Y./Corning East) and Dave D’Abosia (Penfield, N.Y./Schroeder) each had two goals a piece.

Sophomore David Miller (East Syracuse, N.Y./ESM) and freshman Gino Marcello (Rochester, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) each tallied a goal and an assist.

Keuka used three different goalies to combine for five saves.

The Storm will next play at Cazenovia College this Saturday, April 18 beginning at 2 pm.
