Fisher/Fischer Boys Lead Tennis in Win

Led by the stellar play of juniors Will Fisher (Watkinsville, GA/Oconee) and Mike Fischer (Kattskill Bay, N.Y./Lake George), Keuka rolled to a 7-2 win over the visiting Defenders of Baptist Bible College on Wednesday.

Keuka improves to 4-2 on the season while Baptist Bible slips to 3-8.

The Storm won four of the six singles matches including the second and third flights played by the duo of Fisher/Fischer.  Fisher won his match 6-1, 6-1 while Fischer won his 6-2, 6-0.  Also winning was sophomore Blaine Phair (Pembroke, NH/Pembroke) in the fifth flight (6-4, 6-4) and senior James Fitch (Perry, N.Y./Perry) who won his sixth flight match (6-2, 6-2).

The Storm left no doubt in the win while taking all three doubles matches.  Fisher and Fischer took the first flight 8-3 while senior Justin Roe (Port Byron, N.Y./Port Byron) and sophomore Patrick Barker (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads) won the second flight 8-4.  Phair and junior Casey Dahlstrom (Grand Island, N.Y./Grand Island) finished it off with an 8-5 win in the third flight.

Keuka will next play at Alfred University this Thursday, April 16 beginning at 4 pm.
