Softball Outscores SUNYIT 30-0 in Sweep

The Keuka College softball team continued to roll with a double header sweep of new NEAC foe SUNYIT on Saturday, April 18. Keuka won the two games by a combined score of 30-0 as they took game one 17-0 and game two 13-0.
Keuka improves its record to 10-1 overall and 9-0 in the conference while the Wildcats fall to 4-16 overall and 2-6 in the NEAC.
In game one, senior Kasie Davis (Johnsburg, N.Y./Johnsburg) pitched a complete game, four-hit shutout while striking out 11 batters. Senior Stacy Schreiner (Port Byron, N.Y./Port Byron) and sophomore Brittany Schrock (Elmira Heights, N.Y./Thomas Edison) each belted three hits while driving in a pair of runs. Schrock scored three times while hitting a double as Schreiner scored twice while clubbing two doubles. Rookie Sara James (Wayland, N.Y./Wayland-Cohocton) drove in three runs while scoring twice while senior Nicole Lesniak (Herkimer, N.Y./Herkimer) and sophomore Sarah Fredricks (Milton, Ontario/E.C. Drury) each drove in a pair of runs.
In the final game of the doubles header, it was sophomore Kate Kraus (Williamsville, N.Y./Williamsville South) turn to pitch a complete game, one-hit shutout while striking out six. Keuka rattled off 14 hits while scoring 13 times. James batted a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored while rookie Alyssa Wood (Penn Yan, N.Y./Penn Yan) went 2-for-2 with two RBIs.
Keuka will next play at SUNY Cobleskill this Saturday, April 19 beginning at 1 pm.
