Storm Drop 5-4 Decision to Harrisburg

Freshman Nicole Becker won both of her matches.
The Keuka women’s tennis team suffered its first loss to a conference foe as they fell 5-4 to the Nittany Lions of Penn State-Harrisburg on Saturday, April 18. Keuka now sports a 4-4 overall and 3-1 NEAC record. Harrisburg improves to 6-7 overall and remains undefeated in the conference at 3-0.
The two teams split the singles matches, each winning three. The Nittany Lions, however, won two of the three doubles matches to secure the victory.
Junior Alison Liberty (South Berwick, ME/Marshwood) won her second flight of singles match by a score of 6-2, 6-1 while classmate Jennifer Heinrich (Hilton, N.Y./Hilton) dropped her first set (4-6) before rebounding to win the next two (6-4, 6-1). Freshman Nicole Becker (Hornell, N.Y./Avoca) won her fifth flight singles match (2-6, 6-4, 6-4).
In doubles, only the rookie combo of Becker and Kelsey Tamblin (Batavia, N.Y./Oakfield-Alabama) were able tp pull off a victory, an 8-6 win in the second flight.
Keuka will next compete at Wilson College on Sunday, April 19,
