Utica Topples Women’s Lax 15-3

Senior Brenna Leach scored two of Keuka's three goals.
Keuka College dropped a home women’s lacrosse game to the Pioneers of Utica College by a score of 15-3 on Wednesday, April 22. The Storm now sit at 3-5 overall while Utica improves to 8-4.
The Storm fell behind 9-1 at the end of the first half and were outscored 6-2 in the second half. The Pioneers out-shot Keuka 32-8 while picking up 22 ground balls to the Storm’s 20. Keuka had one more draw control (10-9).
Senior Brenna Leach (Rochester, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) led Keuka with two goals while sophomore Brandy Shafer (Rochester, N.Y./Eastridge)scored Keuka’s other goal. Sophomore Courtney Potochniak (Endicott, N.Y./Maine-Endwell) and senior Katy Priestley (Lyons, N.Y./Lyons) each passed off assists.
Utica’s Julianne Schultheiss had four goals and five assists.
Senior goalie Audrey Randall (Fabius, N.Y./Fabius-Pompey) stopped 11 shots in goal.
The Storm will next play at SUNY Oswego this Friday, April 24 beginning at 5 pm.
