York’s Three Goals Not Enough as Storm Fall to Oswego

The Keuka women’s lacrosse team ran into a tough Oswego State team and suffered a 22-5 loss on the road on Friday, April 24.  Keuka now stands at 3-6 overall while Oswego jumps up to 9-6 with the win.

Keuka was outscored 10-2 in the opening half and then 12-3 in the second half.  Keuka did manage 21 shots while allowing 39.  Oswego gobbled up 27 ground balls to the Storm’s 19 while Oswego also won more draw controls (16-12).

Junior Jenn York (Rochester, N.Y./MCC) scored three of Keuka’s five goals while also winning a team-high five draw controls.  Sophomore Brittany Murray (Heuvelton, N.Y./Heuvelton) added a goal and an assist while senior Brenna Leach (Rochester, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) tallied the Storm’s other goal.  Sophomore Jennifer Bush (Endwell, N.Y./Maine-Endwell) dished off her seventh assist of the year.

Oswego’s Rachel Ventresca had an impressive 14 points while scoring nine goals and passing off five assists.

Senior Audrey Randall (Fabius, N.Y./Fabius-Pompey) had nine saves in goal while rookie Emma Ninestine (Geneva, N.Y./Geneva) stopped two shots.  Oswego’s Shannon O’Brien had 13 saves.

Keuka will next play its final regular season game this Wednesday at home against Elmira College at 4:30 pm.
