Robinson Repeats as NEAC Golfer of the Year

Senior Josh Robinson (Barton, N.Y./Tioga) tried his best to lead the Storm to a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championship as he was the medalist out of 53 golfers en route to being named the NEAC Golfer of the Year for a second consecutive season.  The championship was held at the Cazenovia Country Club in Cazenovia, NY on April 23-24.

Keuka finished fourth overall out of 10 teams with a final score of 665.  The Scarlet Raptors of Rutgers-Camden took first with a score of 598.  Behind Rutgers-Camden was Penn State-Harrisburg (650), the University of Dallas (653), Keuka, and SUNYIT (687) in fifth place.  The bottom five were SUNY Cobleskill (693), Penn State-Berks (696), D’Youville College (729), Cazenovia College (788), and Wells College (984).

Robinson tied with three other golfers for the lowest score (76) on day one.  He followed that up with a two-under par 69 on the second day to best a golfer from Rutgers-Camden by two strokes (145-147).  Robinson finished plus three overall.

Rookie Curtis Evanicki (Hemlock, N.Y./Honeoye) shot a two day total of 162 (86, 76) to finish tied for ninth overall and earn him a spot on the All-NEAC second team.  Senior Alex Clark (Saranac Lake, N.Y./Saranac Lake) placed 31st overall with a score of 179 (91, 88).  Junior Kyle Phelan (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Athena) posted a score of 182 (94, 88) to finish tied for 33rd overall while senior Kevin Lowry (Clifton Springs, N.Y./Midlakes) shot a 184 (91, 93) to end up in 38th place.

Keuka will next compete in the Elmira College Spring Invitational this Monday, April 27.
