Baseball Thumps Berks 9-2; Make NEAC Tourney

Senior Ed Scheoneck drove in three runs on the day.
The Keuka baseball team knocked off the visiting Nittany Lions of Penn State-Berks by a score of 9-2 on Monday, April 27. The game was previously played on March 29 but was suspended in the bottom of the fourth with Keuka leading 5-1.
With the win, the Storm secure themselves a spot in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Tournament and grab the three seed setting up a first round game against the two seed Penn State-Harrisburg.
Keuka out-hit Berks 9-5 while playing perfect defense. Berks committed four errors on the day. Junior Rob Crowley (Attica, N.Y./Attica) picked up the win while going four strong innings. Sophomore David Janiszeski (Clarence, N.Y./Clarence) pitched the final three innings while allowing just one earned and striking out two.
Senior Ed Schoeneck (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) drove in three runs while batting 2-for-4. Janiszeski had two hits and scored twice as senior Alex Paquette (Clinton, N.Y./Clinton) went 2-for-2 with two RBIs.
Keuka will next play at R.I.T. this Tuesday, April 28 beginning at 2 pm.
