James Belts Seven Hits in DH Sweep of Hilbert

Freshman Sara James belted seven hits while driving in six runs.
Led by the sensational play of rookie Sara James (Wayland, N.Y./Wayland-Cohocton), Keuka eased to a double header sweep of Hilbert College on Sunday, April 26. Keuka clubbed 41 hits on the day as the Storm won game one by a score of 20-0 and took the second one 20-5. The Storm now has 19 wins and only four losses on the year.
The Storm out-hit Hilbert 23-2 in the first game while plating 20 runs. Leading the offensive explosion was James who batted 4-for-4 with five RBIs, and three runs scored. James also stroked two doubles. Sophomore Brittany Schrock (Auburn, N.Y./Port Byron) went 3-for-4 while scoring four times and driving in two. Sophomore Sarah Fredricks (Milton, Ontario/E.C. Drury) chipped in with three hits in four at bats while driving in three and scoring twice. Fellow sophomore Khaliha Clemons (King Ferry, N.Y./Southern Cayuga) drove in three runs. Sophomore Kate Kraus (Williamsville, N.Y./Williamsville South) picked up the win while hurling a complete game, two-hit shutout with seven K’s.
Keuka equaled its run total from game one in the second game while winning 20-5. Keuka connected on 18 hits while allowing just five. Fredricks drove in seven runs while batting 2-for-3 with two home runs. Junior Alyssa Wood (Penn Yan, N.Y./Penn Yan) drove in five runs while hitting her first home run as James belted three more hits while also scoring three more runs. Junior Domino Usiak (Painted Post, N.Y./Corning West) went 2-for-3 with four runs scored. Senior Kasie Davis (Johnsburg, N.Y./Johnsburg) picked up the win while striking out four.
Keuka will next play the rest of its Penn State-Berks game that was suspended due to rain back on March 29th this Monday, April 27 beginning at 4 pm.
