Keuka finishes its season with a 7-26 overall record. Junior first basemen Ted Black (Turin, N.Y./South Lewis) was named to the All-NEAC third team for his performance this season.
Against Berks, the game was started on Friday after a long rain delay. Berks jumped all over Keuka scoring 23 runs in the first three innings. The game was then suspended due to darkness. When resumed in the morning, Keuka outscored Berks 5-0 over the final six frames.
Freshman Anthony Zaia (Phoenix, N.Y./Phoenix) pitched the final six and a third innings while not allowing an earned run and striking out four. Keuka ripped 11 hits but only rookie Mike Hutchings (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn) had multiple hits with two. Sophomore Mike Campagnone (Solvay, N.Y./Solvay) drove in a pair of runs with a pinch-hit double.
In the elimination game against Cazenovia, Keuka scored four runs in the first two innings but the Wildcats climbed back into the game with a five-run fourth inning. Cazenovia out-hit Keuka 15-7 in the ball game while getting help on a controversial two-run homer.
Sophomore Bobby Potter (Montour Falls, N.Y./Odessa-Montour) took the loss on the hill while rookie Adam Jordan (Sodus, N.Y./Sodus) pitched two scoreless innings of relief. Freshman Pete Venuti (Solvay, N.Y./Solvay) led the sticks going 3-for-5 with two runs scored.
