Men’s Lacrosse Brings Home First NEAC Championship

Senior Adam Farrell had six points to earn NEAC Tourney MVP honors.
The Keuka College men’s lacrosse program can now call themselves North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Tournament Champions.
The Storm defeated the visiting Mavericks of Medaille College by a 17-4 margin in the title game played at Keuka’s Jephson Community Athletic Complex on Saturday, May 2.
Keuka, who defeated Medaille 21-2 in the regular season, out-scored Medaille 5-0 in the first quarter and then 5-2 in the second to hold a 10-2 lead at halftime. The two teams each scored twice in the third before Keuka ended the game just as it began with a 5-0 quarter.
Keuka out-shot Medaille by an astounding 50 shots (61-11). The Storm also picked up 45 ground balls compared to Medaille’s 18. Keuka held a slight advantage in face-offs (11-7) while neither team was able to take advantage of any extra-man opportunities with Keuka going 0-for-9 and Medaille going 0-for-7.
Senior Adam Farrell (Hamburg, N.Y./Frontier) enjoyed a huge final game as he went off for a game-high five goals while adding an assist. His heroics earned him the NEAC Tournament MVP.
Fellow senior Chris Sullivan (East Northport, N.Y./Northport) finished off his career with two goals, an assist, nine won face-offs, and seven ground balls. Classmate Greg Marsh (Waterloo, N.Y./Waterloo) added two goals and a game-high eight ground balls as senior TJ Radka (Waterloo, N.Y./Cayuga CC) finished with a goal and a game-high three assists. Senior attacker Drew Kunda (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) chipped in with a goal and two assists.
Also scoring goals for Keuka were senior Joe Hallowell (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Odyssey), freshman Tim Mandell (Corning, N.Y./Corning East) who also dished off an assist, sophomores David Miller (East Syracuse, N.Y./ESM) and Peter Hart (Webster, N.Y./Thomas), and rookies Gino Marcella (Rochester, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) and Ben Ternosky (LaFayette, N.Y./LaFayette).
Freshman Connor Brown (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Ludden) had two assists as senior defender Isaac Zehr (Lowville, N.Y./Cayuga CC) and freshman Parker Gazda (Syracuse, N.Y./ESM) each passed out an assist.
Sophomore goalie Brett Leonard (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) stopped six shots in goal. Medaille’s Ben Dlugosh had 16 saves in goal.
