Softball Three-Peats as NEAC Champions

The Keuka College softball team completed the three-peat as North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) champions on Saturday, May 2 with a 3-2 win over the No. 2 seeded Spartans of D’Youville College.
After winning both of its games on Friday to put themselves in the championship game, Keuka defending its NEAC Tournament title against the Spartans while both teams finished with six hits a piece. The Storm struck first with two runs in the bottom of the third. D’Youville quickly tied it back up with two runs in the top of the fourth. The Storm manufactured one more run in the bottom half of the fourth to secure the win.
Senior Kasie Davis (Johnsburg, N.Y./Johnsburg) collected the win on the hill, her second in as many days, while striking out three and allowing two earned runs. Sophomore Kate Kraus (Williamsville, N.Y./Williamsville South) pitched the final inning and a third to record her second save in two days and fourth of the season.
Sophomore Brittany Schrock (Elmira Heights, N.Y./Thomas Edison) batted 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored while slugging a double. Senior Lindsay Humberstone (Perry, N.Y./Perry) and rookie Sara James (Wayland, N.Y./Wayland-Cohocton) each drove in a run.
Sophomore Denise Bilbow (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C. W. Baker) was named the Tournament MVP after batting 4-for-11 with five runs scored, three RBIs, five stolen bases, and slugging a home run and a double.
Keuka will next play in the NCAA Tournament this Thursday, May 7 at Ithaca College.
