Big Scoring Forwards to Pave Way for Men’s Soccer in ‘09
August 27, 2009

Junior Brian Cunliffe will go from being an All-NEAC first team midfielder in '08 to the middle of the Storm's defense this season.
After posting the second best record in program history with a 12-4-2 mark in 2008, the Storm should be in good shape to make a run at the NEAC title that just narrowly escaped them last year.
“We are excited about our team and looking forward to the upcoming season,” said Head Coach Matt Tantalo.
Keuka outscored its opponents 42-17 last season but Tantalo will need to replace its leading scorer over the past four years, NEAC Player of the Year Brandon Scott. The return of junior forward Jack Reece (Rochester, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) and the emergence of classmate Carl Learned (Elmira, N.Y./Elmira Free Academy) should allow the Storm to still rack up plenty of goals. Reece tallied nine goals, six assists, and 24 points while being named to the All-NEAC first team. Learned enjoyed a breakout sophomore season, tallying nine goals and an assist for 19 points. Tough Defense, Experience to Guide Keuka Women’s Soccer in ‘09
August 25, 2009

Senior and reigning NEAC MVP, Kelly Josephson, will anchor the Storm's defense again in 2009.
Keuka’s women’s soccer team has not lost a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) game the past two seasons and brings a 16-0-1 streak into the 2009 conference campaign.
In 2008, the Storm (10-6-3) won both the regular season and conference tournament championships en route to making its second NCAA Tournament appearance. The 2009 squad returns 10 players including nine juniors and seniors.
“A big strength that we will have is leadership and experience; all 10 returners have played valuable minutes in the past and have played in some big post-season games,” stated head coach Jamie Burke. Read more
Duo of Talented Outside Hitters to lead Keuka Volleyball in ‘09
August 17, 2009

Senior Holly McHale (left) and junior Raelle Naegely will lead the Storm in '09.
The Keuka volleyball team posted a 16-14 overall record and a 4-2 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) mark last season, but a much more experienced group will take the floor for Keuka this season.
“We are a team made up of a strong senior and junior class. They have a lot of game experience,” says Head Coach Alena Krug.
Krug will rely heavily on a pair of talented outside hitters: senior Holly McHale (Carthage, N.Y./Jefferson CC) and junior Raelle Naegely (Colorado Springs, CO/Pine Creek).
“They are both seasoned veterans who will lead the team in all defensive and offensive play,” stated Krug.
The two outside hitters enjoyed solid seasons a year ago, with McHale being named to the All-NEAC first team and Naegely to the second team. McHale was second on the team with 166 kills for an average of 1.71 while leading Keuka in digs with 286 (2.95 per contest). Standing at 5-10, McHale was also one of the Storm’s top servers with 34 aces, third on the team, and adding 26 blocks. Naegely, also 5-10, led the team with 249 kills (2.57) while attempting a team-high 818 total attacks. She was third on the team in both digs (159) and blocking (41) while serving up 27 aces. Marcella Tabbed as Cross Country Coach at Keuka
August 12, 2009
Katie Marcella, assistant women’s basketball coach at Keuka College last season, has been named the Storm’s head men’s and women’s cross country coach.
Marcella will remain in her assistant women’s basketball coach roll for the 2009-10 season. In her first season with Dave Sweet’s hoops squad, she helped lead the team to a 17-8 overall record that included a 15-game winning streak, a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Tournament championship, and Keuka’s second trip to the NCAA Tournament in the past three seasons.
