Senior Ian Loos and the rest of Keuka's defense held Alfred scoreless through the game's first 87 minutes.

A goal in the 88th minute of play spoiled the Keuka College men’s soccer season opener as they fell 1-0 to the Saxons of Alfred University on the road on Sept. 1.  The game was also Alfred’s season opener.

With both teams going scoreless through the first 87 minutes of play, Alfred’s Frankie Mannino netted the game-winner off a pass from Kevin Morgan with under three minutes remaining (87:06).

For the game, Keuka was out-shot 12-3 with rookie Dylan Dibble (Prattsburgh, N.Y./Prattsburgh) kicking two of the three.  Senior keeper Mike Meskill (Trumansburg, N.Y./Charles O. Dickerson) finished with four saves while allowing just the one goal.  Alfred’s Elliot Thorpe collected one save en route to a shutout.

Keuka will next play host to Pitt-Bradford this Saturday, Sept. 5 beginning at 1 pm.
