Naegely named to All-Tourney Team at Colorado Invite

The Keuka volleyball team ran into some tough competition at the Colorado College Invitational this past weekend and came away with an 0-4 record.

Colorado won the Invite while going 4-0, No. 14 nationally ranked University of Puget Sound was the runner-up while going 3-1.  McMurry University went 2-2 while Stevens Tech went 1-3.

The Storm now sit at 1-8 on the season.

On the first day, Keuka fell 0-3 (18-25, 22-25, 11-25) to McMurry and 0-3 to Puget Sound (10-25, 16-25, 11-25).  Junior Raelle Naegely (Colorado Spings, CO/Pine Creek) led with six kills and eight digs against McMurry.  Fellow junior Heather Fish (Newfield, N.Y./Newfield) had four kills and four blocks against Puget Sound while senior Holly McHale (Carthage, N.Y./Jefferson CC) added nine digs.

On day two of the tournament, the Storm fell 0-3 to the host Tigers (20-25, 17-25, 10-25) before falling 1-3 to Stevens Tech (12-25, 18-25, 27-25, 13-25).  Naegely again led with six kills, two aces, and six digs against Colorado.  Against Stevens Tech, Naegely had eight kills and 10 digs while junior Katy Geers (Fulton, N.Y./G. Ray Bodley) had nine assists and 10 digs.

Naegely, playing back in her home state, was named to the All-Tournament team for her performance.  She led keuka with 23 kills and 28 digs. 

Keuka will next play at Pitt-Bradford this Wednesday, Sept. 16 beginning at 7 pm.
