Reece and Socha Nab Athlete of the Week Honors

Keuka College named juniors Jack Reece (Rochester, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) and Chelsea Socha (Himrod, N.Y./Dundee) Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sept. 12.
Reece, a high-scoring forward for the Storm’s 2-1-1 men’s soccer team, scored three goals while leading Keuka to a 1-0-1 week. In Keuka’s 3-0 win over D’Youville, Reece scored all three goals to record his second career hat trick. It was his second game-winning goal of the season. Reece now has 21 career goals which places him tenth all-time in the Keuka annals.
Socha, running in her first ever collegiate cross country race, placed sixth overall out of 70 runners at the SUNY Oswego Invitational. She helped Keuka to a fifth place finish out of seven teams. Socha ran the 4.5K race in a time of 17:58, just 20 seconds behind the leader.
