The Keuka College golf team got its 2009-10 season under way with a 10th place finish at the SUNY Oswego Invitational on Monday, Sept. 21.

The Storm finished 10th out of 10 teams with a final score of 413.  SUNY Potsdam won the Invite with a score of 307 while Elmira College and Clarkson University both tied for second with a score of 324.  SUNY Oswego (327) and SUNYIT (328) rounded out the top-five.

The medalist was Benton Sullivan of SUNY Potsdam who shot a two-over 73.  Keuka’s top finisher was freshman Tyler Hoosier (Saratoga, N.Y./Saratoga) who tied for 36th out of 52 golfers with a 92.  Senior Kyle Phelan (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Athena) was second for Keuka with his score of 100, good enough to tie for 44th place.

Junior Darron Hall (Owego, N.Y./Owego) and rookie Blake Burr (Gouverneur, N.Y./Gouverneur) placed third and fourth for the Storm in 50th and 51st place, respectively.  Hall shot a 109 while Burr sported a 112.

Keuka will next host the Keuka Invitational this Thursday, Sept. 24 beginning at 11 am at th Lakeside Country Club in Penn Yan, NY.
