Win Streak Snapped in 1-0 Loss to Wells

The Keuka College men’s soccer team had its five-game unbeaten streak snapped with a 1-0 loss to the Express of Wells College on the road Wednesday.
The loss drops Keuka to 4-2-1 overall while Wells improves to 2-6 on the season.
The two teams combined for just 20 shots in the game with Keuka holding a slight edge (11-9). The Express placed seven of its nine shots on goal while the Storm only had four of its 11 shots on goal. Keuka rookie Dylon Dibble (Prattsburgh, N.Y./Prattsburgh) had two of the four shots on goal.
After the two teams played a scoreless first half, Wells finally snuck one of its few shots past the Storm’s keeper. The goal, scored by Justin Rigney, came unassisted in the 62nd minute (61:45).
Keuka goalie Mike Meskill (Trumansburg, N.Y./Charles O. Dickerson) finished with six saves as Wells’ Mike Birklin stopped four shots while picking up the shutout.
Keuka will next play at Elmira College this Tuesday, Sept. 29 beginning at 4 pm.
